I am back

I got back from Jibhi, India at about 7 o'clock yesterday and lets just say that I wish I was still there. Whenever I look at the clock I convert it to Jibhi time and think of what I would be doing if I was still up at Jibhi camp. Right now I would be teaching the kids the 2nd lesson of the day and they would be going bonkers because they are so excited to get to play with us! I am wide awake even though I have basically been asleep since 4 am this morning. but I am up, and will probably be up for awhile. i have looked through all of my pictures about a million times and I am still planning on going through them again tonight. I don't even  know how to express my feelings about my trip because all I can say is that it was amazing and I loved every second of it, I want to go on a rant about Sunita and Shabu and the fights i had with Tanner, and playing Perudo til 1 or 2 every night with jake it the kitchen. But I can't because there aren't words to describe it. My whol...

Its here

I know you all know that I'm going to India, but the day has finally arrived I really am going! I have been working for an entire year now and I couldn't be more excited to spend it with my best friends. Through YMAD you have about 300 meetings (just kidding) and you get to know each other pretty well, I hang out with my YMAD family just about every weekend. And I love it! Tomorrow is the day where my dreams come true. 2 years ago I would have never imagined this past year to go how it did. I am going half way across the world to Jibhi, India with 25 kids from across the Salt Lake Valley. Tomorrow is also a really big day for my friends Austin, Jenna and Eden. I pray that CC has a brain and voted for them. They are amazing people and I love them so much!! :) ALSO its an even bigger day to my Riverton homies Dragon, Hollis and Jake, they find out about SBO! Good luck to you 6 and everyone else. Honestly from my last election blog post, even running for Student Government is ...

teachers

okay, teachers are supposed to be smarter than us right.. but let me share my frustration with you about my teachers.. My math teacher bless his heart he is clueless about everything going on... including math.. But I gave him a month advance warning and I finished all my assignments like 3 weeks early. Great right. I didn't do the review though because I wanted to wait until I got back to do that so I could study before I took the test when I get back, his response to that, " No you should probably do the review before you leave cause i wont open it back up for you after. or you could print it off" Its like 7 billion questions no way in heck am i printing it off.. sorry. So there goes my college math grade.. thanks shelley, youre really understanding. not. ugh he sucks. then today.. ahhhh This pisses me off the most. So I told my ASL teacher a billion times about India cause I was so freaking excited! She has talked to me about it blah blah blah. I talk to her a mont...

exhausted yet not

ATTENTION all future YMADers be prepared for many nights of exhaustion but you can't sleep because of excitement. I was up till 3 looking at the village i was going to in India on google i was so excited on Sunday I couldn't sleep a wink and that had happened multiple nights before then as well not 3 am but 1 or 2. But FYI if you have a lot of those nights the week before you leave you'll probably end up like me, and go to bed at 5 sleep till 10 wake up eat and go back to bed at 11 until 7. and it will be the best thing of your life. That happened to me yesterday and today I was so out of it, or maybe that was because I was stuck doing the HOSA blood drive all day. Which is fun when people come in, but when everyone is involved in spring sports then its not so fun and you sit in there and go crazy cause of how boring it was! Anyways I haven't been blogging on here much because I have been blogging on my YMAD blog, because YMAD has been the only thing on my mind these p...

My Journey

I have been with YMAD since May, it has been the best experience I could have asked for, honestly. From the beginning I have had so many people discourage me by saying, "fundraising is going to be so hard, how are you going to do it?" "Deadline is getting close you need to do more you aren't gonna make it." And stuff like that. To the people who said that and were doubting my ability to successfully make it through this year long process I say, "You're wrong, I did it over $4,000 raised in a year time period. I DID IT. I am going to India in a week and I proved you wrong. I had all of my money well before each dead line, I even had more sometimes." Thank you for doubting me, it just made me drive harder and work for it more. I haven't even gone to India yet but I have learned to many things like Love- I love everyone on my expedition like family, I hate thinking about how we are going to separate and not see each other every month at our YM...
